MEDICAL EXPERIENCE IN OPHTHALMOLOGY

Experience gained as a surgeon in over 50,000 eye operations
Full surgical spectrum, covering the anterior and posterior segments of the eye. Refractive surgery on the cornea, corneal transplantations, operations to correct cataracts and glaucoma, reconstructive anterior segment surgery following trauma. General and specialised retinal and vitreous body surgery following retinal detachments, as well as proliferative and degenerative retinal disorders, epiretinal and subretinal membrane surgery, retinal rotation, laser-assisted surgical interventions, plastic, cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid surgery.

PUBLICATIONS/RESEARCH

Over 50 research papers, publications and conference articles published in/presented at national and international trade publications and conferences.

ACCOLADES AND AWARDS

2006: Receipt of 2nd Film Prize at the 20th International Conference of German Ophthalmic Surgeons in Nuremberg; 2004: Receipt of “Best Paper of Session” (BPOS) Award at the Congress of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, San Diego, USA.
